With hackers targeting online remittances and cyber crimes across India rising 44 per cent between 2013 and 2017, engineering exporters body, EEPC India has started sensitising and training exporters.
To safeguard money transfers, the EEPC in cooperation with cyber experts from the police and forensic institutions, organised a workshop for the first time in Kolkata on Thursday.
The event brought face to face the cyber and forensic science experts and exporters.
The RBI has registered a total of 12,520 cases of frauds involving credit cards during the quarter ending September 2017.
Addressing the meeting, EEPC India chairman Ravi Sehgal said, "We at EEPC India receive cases where exporters' accounts are hacked or we get complaints from exporters for non-receipt of remittances for cross border transactions."
Experts from Kolkata Police, Central Forensic Science Laboratory and ICICI Bank participated in the workshop.
