Bhel commissions 600 MW thermal unit in MP

State-run power equipment maker Bhel today said it has operationalised a 600 MW thermal unit in Madhya Pradesh.

"The unit has been commissioned at Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited's 2x600 MW Shree Singaji thermal power project, located near Dongaliya village in Madhya Pradesh," Bhel said in a statement.

Earlier, the first unit at the same power project was commissioned by Bhel in November, 2013.

Bhel's scope of work includes design, engineering and and commissioning of project.

The company has a share of more than 90 per cent in the thermal generating capacity of the state utility in Madhya Pradesh. In addition, Bhel is executing 1x500 MW Vindhyachal and 2x800 MW Gadarwara coal based projects of NTPC in Madhya Pradesh.
 

The Bhel scrip closed at Rs 219.10, down 2.95 per cent, on the BSE.
