Activists of Punjab Hind Force, an NGO, today celebrated the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a hero of the country's freedom struggle.
Led by Rakesh Sharma, the activists celebrated "Bose Jayanti" by cutting cake and paying glowing tributes to the great revolutionary, who was born on this day in 1897 in Odisha's Cuttak.
They demanded that local Gol Chowk on the National Highway-1 be named after Bose.

Addressing the gathering, social activists Binny Kaura and Babu Ram Dugg glorified Bose as unflinching crusader for India's freedom. They also remembered his contribution in raising the Indian National Army for freeing the country from shackles of slavery.
They regretted that the central government so far could not gather irrefutable proof that Bose had really died in an air crash in August 1945.
