A 48-year-old BJP corporator was killed allegedly after being shot at during a party with his friends in the wee hours today in Rakabganj area here, police said.
Mahesh Jain sustained bullet shots during a party at the house of his friend Vijendra, who along with Pramod Jain and Arvind Jain was named as being involved in the murder, police said.
Mahesh was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Mahesh's son has lodged a complaint at the Rakabganj police station, they said, adding that police are investigating the incident and are also considering the claim of the suspects that the pistol went off accidentally.
