CPI(M) state secretary Surya Kanta Mishra today accused the TMC government in West Bengal and the BJP government at Centre of waging a "war against the common people" even as he hit out at the Prime Minister calling his "war against corruption" as mere "lip-service".
"The central and state government are both waging war against the common people. We have to intensify struggle against all authoritarian tendencies. The PM is going abroad in every twenty days. The PM s 'war against corruption ' is merely a lip service to the nation," Mishra tweeted.
Mishra also said the proposed Nabanna Abhiyan (West Bengal State secretariat campaign) by Left and Left-aligned peasants organisations on August 27 will demonstrate the power of the toiling masses of the state.

"Nabanna Abhiyan will show this anti-democratic TMC government the power of the toiling people of West Bengal. TMC activists have obstructed us from reaching flood relief camps at Howrah to meet affected people. That was an act of cowardice.
"TMC were unable to stop us from reaching flood- affected people because the people of Bengal are our strength," Mishra tweeted.
