Book bags award

"Kavithilakan Panthalam Kerala Varma", a book penned by Cherukunnam Purushothaman, has bagged this year's Kaithackal Mahamuni Award instituted by Adoor-based Kanjikkal Bhadradevi Temple Trust.

The award comprises cash prize of Rs 11,111, a citation and a shawl, a release said here today.

A jury, comprising literary critic K S Ravikumar, novelist C Rahim and temple historian Perinad Sadanandan Pillai, selected the book for the honour, it said.

The award will be presented to the author on November 23, the release said.
