Brain dead man gives new lease of lifes to four

A 44-year-old man, who was declared brain-dead following blood pressure related ailment has given fresh lease of life to four persons with his organs being harvested today.

R Milton Anand fell suddenly unconscious on November 27 and diagnose revealed that he has high blood pressure. After providing first aid at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, he was shifted to KMCH for specialised treatment on the same day.

Despite undergoing medical management, he could not not respond much and was declared brain dead yesterday, a KMCH release said today.

The family came forward to donate Anand's organs and a team of doctors harvested liver, eyes and skin this afternoon, it said.
 

The liver was transplanted at KMCH; while skin and eyes were sent to other private hospitals in the city, it said.
