Bakery and dairy products maker Britannia Industries today reported a 5.79 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 233.95 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 221.13 crore in July-September period a year-ago, Britannia Industries said in a BSE filing.
Britannia's consolidated total income from operations was up 11.45 per cent to Rs 2,456.10 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 2,203.71 crore of the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Its total expenses were up 12.56 per cent to Rs 2,146.14 crore as against Rs 1,906.53 crore.
In the first half of 2016-17, Britannia Industries' consolidated net profit was up 9.34 per cent to Rs 453.08 crore as against Rs 414.37 crore in the year-ago period.
Its net sales in the first half of the current fiscal were up 10.31 per cent at Rs 4,652.72 crore as against Rs 4,217.55 crore in the same period last year.
Shares of Britannia Industries settled 0.10 per cent up at Rs 3,303.20 on BSE.

Meanwhile, in a separate filing, Britannia Industries has informed BSE that its Chief Financial Officer Amlan Datta Majumdar has resigned from the company with effect from November 30, 2016.
The company has appointed N Venkataraman the new CFO.
