Britney Spears leaves restaurant without paying

Singer Britney Spears accidentally skipped out on her bill at a restaurant last weekend.

Spears, 32, and her boyfriend David Lucado finished their USD 30 meal and she asked her bodyguard to pay on her behalf, but a miscommunication kept that from happening, reported People magazine.

When the singer realised what had happened, she paid her check - and left a waitress a USD 100 tip.

The Cheesecake Factory tells in a statement that there is no hard feelings and Spears is no "criminal".

"Britney dines in our restaurants quite often and is a wonderful guest," the senior director of public relations, Alethea Rowe said and added, "We know that this was just an honest mistake.
