The Border Security Force (BSF) has beefed up security along the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal in view of the Burdwan blast, a senior BSF officer said today.

"Security has been beefed up along the Bangladesh border in West Bengal. More troops have been deployed in those areas where there is no barbed wire fencing," Inspector General of BSF (North Bengal Frontier) S K Sood told reporters at the Kadamtala camp of the BSF.

Patrolling by the BSF troops have also been intensified along the border, Sood said.

North Bengal Frontier of the BSF is entrusted to guard 932.39 km international boundary with Bangladesh.

Initial investigation into the October 2 Burdwan blast has revealed that the two suspected terrorists killed in the blast had links with Bangladesh-based terror group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
