Chana up by 0.1% on spot demand

Speculators indulged in creating positions amidst improved demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices traded higher by 0.13% to Rs 3,013 per quintal in futures market today as speculators indulged in creating positions amidst improved demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing belts.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December moved up by Rs 4, or 0.13%, to Rs 3,013 per quintal with an open interest of 44,450 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in November edged up by Rs 3, or 0.10%, to Rs 2,968 per quintal in 99,900 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators due to rise in demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing region mainly helped chana prices to trade higher at futures trade.
