Chana down 0.88% on subdued demand

Traders pare positions on weak cues in spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices were down by 0.88 per cent to Rs 3,171 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions, tracking weak cues from spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in December fell by Rs 28, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 3,171 per quintal with an open interest of 67,100 lots.

The November contract shed Rs 26, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 3,190 per quintal in 55,900 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators amid sluggish demand at spot markets mainly led to the fall in chana prices at futures trade.
