Chana prices fell by 0.34 per cent to Rs 3,480 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions amid negative cues from spot market on subdued demand.
However, expectations of lower output capped the fall.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in January declined by Rs 12, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 3,480 per quintal with an open interest of 60,670 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in February eased by Rs 3, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 3,541 per quintal in 74,040 lots.
Market analysts said trimming of positions by speculators owing to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly influenced chana prices at futures trade.
