Chana prices rose 0.31 per cent to Rs 3,854 per quintal in futures trade today as participants enlarged positions, driven by strong demand from dal mills at the spot market.
Besides, tight stock positions on fall in arrivals from producing regions, fuelled the uptrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April rose by Rs 12, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 3,854 per quintal with an open interest of 34,040 lots.

On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in March contracts gained Rs 5, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 3,808 per quintal in 92,690 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices to rising demand from dal mills at the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
