Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices rose 1.09 per cent to Rs 3,888 per quintal in futures trade today as participants created more positions, supported by soaring demand from dal mills in the spot market amid restricted supplies.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March contracts advanced Rs 42, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 3,888 per quintal with an open interest of 90,440 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April contracts edged higher by Rs 41, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 3,923 per quintal in 30,690 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices in futures trade to widening of positions by speculators, tracking a firm trend at the domestic spot market on strong demand.
