Charred body recovered on Ludhiana-Chandigarh road

A charred body of an unidentified person was today found on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh road near here, police said.

It is difficult to ascertain the identity as the body is charred and was burnt more than 70 per cent, Shanewal Station House Officer (SHO) Anil Bhanot said.

The charred body was lying in a rugged jute bag opposite a government school, some 15 kms from here.

The preliminary investigations shows that the place of the crime and disposal of the body were different, he said

The body has been sent for postmortem, he said adding that further invetigation is underway.
