Chennai Post to provide mobile alert facility

Taking its services closer to the people, Chennai Posts would provide short messaging service alerts to people who avail services like speed post and parcel services.

To avail the facility which is free of cost, mobile numbers of both the sender and the receiver should be provided at the time of booking, an official release said.

Department of Posts would send SMS alert to the receiver at the delivery Post Office. At the same time, another alert would be sent to the sender intimating date and time of the delivered product, it said.
