A 37-year-old woman estate worker today suffered multiple injuries after a bear attacked her at Kolapalli, about 80 km from here, police said.
The woman was plucking tea leaves in the estate, belonging to Tamil Nadu Tea Plantation Corporation (TANTEA), when the bear pounced on her from a bush, they said.
The animal fled from the spot after co-workers raised an alarm and the injured woman was rushed to the Tantea Hospital.
After preliminary treatment, she was brought to the government hospital here, where she was admitted, they said.
