Hundred children of Don Bosco Snehabhavan, Fort Kochi and Valsalya Bhavan, Ponnurunny, were provided an opportunity to visit the Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology (NIAT) today as part of the community outreach activites of the Southern Naval Command at Kochi.
The children were shown around and explained the various models of aircraft and aero-engines, Navy said in a release here.
They were also provided some entertainment in the form of magic show and other cultural programmes.

The group, accompanied by 15 staff members including Sister Mary Francis, In Charge, Don Bosco Valsalya Bhavan and Fr P Verghese were received at NIAt by Commodore Sanjeev Dureja, Director, NIAT and his team who also hosted the group for lunch prior to their departure, the release said.
A team from NIAT had visited the Valsalya Bhavan yesterday and conducted social sevice activities for the benefit of inmates which included gifting of amenity items and daily housekeeping needs.
Some telegames were conducted for the inmates while they presented a small cultural programme for the visiting delegation.
Valsalya Bhavan is full time shelter home and rescue centre for destitute girls and girls caught up in various traumatic situation and is operating under the Don Bosco Welfare Society and Corporation of Kochi.
The Centre shifted to its present location in 2010.
