A Circle Inspector engaged in the work of land mutation in Raniganj block of Bihar's Araria district was today arrested for accepting a graft of Rs 25,000, a senior police officer said.

Singh said one Surindera Kumar Yadav had complained to the vigilance Department that the accused Anil Kumar Singh, Circle Inspector have been demanding Rs 25,000 as bribe for mutation of a piece of land.

On the basis of the complaint, a vigilance team was constituted here and sent to Araria, which caught red-handed the officer near Purnia Sadar Hospital while taking a bribe of Rs 25,000.
The accused would be produced in the Vigilance court, the DSP said.
