A clerk posted in the Malaria Department here was today caught red-handed by the Lokayukta sleuths for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the daughter of a retired woman official of the same office.
The action was taken after a complaint was filed by the daughter of the retired official of Malaria department.
The complainant said that the clerk, Ramprasad Golani, was demanding a bribe of Rs 43,500 for clearing remaining arrears of the Fifth Pay Commission amounting to Rs 1,64,000.

Based on the complaint, a trap was laid and Golani was caught red-handed while taking Rs 10,000 as the 'first instalment' from her in the MTH Compound area, Lokayukta's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) B S Parihar said.
A case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against him and further investigation was on.
