Congress protests illegal hoardings in Rajkot city

Press Trust of India  |  Rajkot

workers today protested the Municipal Corporation's inaction over illegal hoardings in the city.

City Congress's Mahesh Rajput, in the RMC Vashram Sagathiya and others staged a sit-in in front of B N Pani's office.

They were detained when they tried to enter the commissioner's office and released later.

They said in a statement that there were 275 illegal advertising boards or hoardings, but the RMC was not removing them or collecting penalty from the advertising agencies.

This was causing a major loss to the corporation, leaders alleged.
