A sub-inspector was arrested
today on the charge of adultery after the husband of the former's love interest caught them in his house at Moti Nagar here, police said.
The accused, identified as Vijay (35), is attached with Khammam Police in Telangana.
Vijay was trapped after a " private spy" hired by the woman's husband tipped him off about his presence in their house last night.
According to the police, Vijay had befriended the woman on a social networking site.
"The man, a resident of Moti Nagar, told police over phone that he was suspecting that his wife was into a relationship with another man for the past seven-eight months and that he had hired a spy to keep watch at his house.
"Last night, the spy, who is working as a watchman at their apartment, noticed one man entering the complainant's house and informed him, who in turn caught the man with his wife," S R Nagar police station inspector Md Waheeduddin said.
Vijay was booked under the charges of adultery and house trespass, the inspector told PTI.
The complainant and the woman have been married for the last nine years.
"However, since last seven-eight months he had been suspecting that his wife was having an affair with another man," the officer said.
