Copper firms up on global cues

Copper advanced by Rs 2 per kg in tandem with a firming trend overseas amid rising demand from consuming industries at the non-ferrous metal market today.

Traders said sentiments in copper remained firm after it climbed, extending a rebound from the lowest level in six years in global markets, on signs of supply reductions.

Meanwhile, Copper for delivery in three month was up 0.7 per cent to USD 5,335 a metric tonne at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Besides, pickup in demand from consuming industries supported the upside, they said.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap added another Rs 2 by to Rs 396 per kg.
 

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 108-114, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 950-955, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 396, Chadri deshi Rs 285.

Lead ingot Rs 100, Lead imported Rs 101, Aluminium ingots Rs 156, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 157, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 159 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 156.
