Prices of zinc and copper fell by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries amid a weak global trend.
Traders said sentiments turned bearish after zinc fell from a two-month high in global markets ahead of minutes of the Federal Reserve's March meeting and as the IMF forecast sustained weakness in global economic growth.
Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three months dropped 0.7 per cent to USD 2,139.50 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
