Prices of copper and lead rose by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today following pick-up in demand from consuming industries coupled with a firming global trend.
Traders said sentiments are better after copper gained in global markets before data that would signal the pace of growth in the US and China, the world's two biggest consumers of metals.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months rose 0.3 per cent to USD 5,734.50 per metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap, lead ingot and lead imported were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 400, Rs 102 and Rs 103 per kg, respectively.
