Police today arrested a couple for duping a man by promising his son a job in Punjab police in Peroshah village near here.
The duo - Harjinder Singh and his wife Kulwinder Kaur - were arrested by police when they came to Peroshah village to collect Rs 50,000 from Lakhwinder Singh for getting his son a job in Punjab police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Harjinder Singh posed as a Station House Officer (SHO) and his wife Kulwinder Kaur, a nurse by profession, presented herself as a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

While duping people, the couple from Dakoha village claimed that it was posted at police headquarters in Chandigarh.
