Criminal escapes from custody, two cops suspended

A criminal escaped from police custody while he was being taken to court following which two policemen who were escorting him have been suspended.

The accused, Jabbar, who was being taken to court in a bus, escaped by cutting the rope with which his hands had been tied by the policemen after he was arrested on charges of theft in Titawi area in the district last evening, police said today.

The two policemen escorting him have been placed under suspension, they said.
