A country-made gun manufacturing unit has been unearthed at Cherampadi near Pandalur, about 90 km from here, and two persons arrested in this connection, police said today.
Based on a tip-off, police raided a house late last night and arrested one Soman, allegedly involved in manufacturing country-made guns and some parts used for making them, were seized.
On information given by Soman, police arrested one Rajesh from nearby Gudalur and recovered a country-made gun from his possession, police said.
Against the backdrop of the seizure of a gun in an abandoned jeep a week back, police are probing whether there could be a larger network, possibly supplying arms to Naxalites, as K Vijay Kumar, Senior Security Adviser in the Home Ministry, had visited the area, bordering Kerala, a few days ago, police said.
