Crude palm oil extend losses on higher supply

Subdued demand in the spot market and reports of a weakening global trend also put pressure on prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Crude palm oil prices shed 0.09% to Rs 441 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing their positions amid higher supplies from producing belts.

Subdued demand in the spot market and reports of a weakening global trend also put pressure on prices.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in April shed 40 paise, or 0.09%, to Rs 441 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 35 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in March eased by 10 paise, or 0.02%, to Rs 438.80 per 10 kg in 26 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators amid higher supplies from producing belts in the spot market mainly kept crude palm oil prices lower at futures trade.
