Dalit girl set ablaze by lover dies

A Dalit girl, who was set ablaze allegedly by her lover more than two weeks ago, succumbed to her injuries.

Pinki died of her burn injuries in hospital at Kallarpur village here last evening, police said today.

The victim was set on fire by her lover, Dinesh, after she refused to marry him, they said.

Dinesh was arrested on June 29.

A case of murder has been registered against the accused, police said.
