Das asks SER to complete work in state

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today told the South-Eastern railway that compared to the revenue generated by the railways from Jharkhand, the facilities lacked.

Making the observation at a meeting with SER general manager S N Agarwal, Das said it should be set right and work on rail over bridges (ROB) should be completed at the earliest, according to an official release here.

The chief minister said there was need for some new trains and route changes.

Besides, Namkum-Kandra, Giridih-Parasnath-Madhuban and Tori-Chatra railway projects should also be started at the earliest, Das said.

Railway officials said 11 ROB projects are in the SER zone and out of these, 10 have been approved and work has begun in five projects.
 

They said that the project near the Birsa Chowk in Ranchi would be completed by July-August next.

The work at Jugsalai in Jamshedpur would also begin very soon, they said.

The survey of Namkum-Kandra have been submitted to the Railway Board while survey of Giridih-Parasnath and Chandil-Muri-Barkana have been completed.
