Delhi police today claimed to have solved the murder-cum-robbery of a 63-year-old woman in East Delhi in February this year with the arrest of her son's driver.
Police arrested 30-year-old Ajay Kumar who has allegedly admitted to having strangled the old woman to death before looting her jewellery and cash as he was in need of money and she had refused to give him a loan.
On February 17, 2014, Mohini Gupta was found dead in her home at Hazara Park, Shivpuri in East Delhi. Strangulation marks were found around her neck and her house had been ransacked.

Though initially there were no suspects, but after questioning the woman's neighbours and others of the area as well as mounting technical surveillance, the police zeroed in on her son's driver, a resident of district Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh.
On his sustained interrogation, he revealed that he was in need of money as his house at his native village was being reconstructed and he had asked the deceased to give him a loan of Rs 20,000 but she had refused, police said.
On the day of incident, the victim was alone and taking advantage of it he had strangulated her and robbed jewellery and cash from the house, police said.
