The weather was dry over east Uttar Pradesh and light rain occurred at isolated places over western parts of the state in the last 24 hours.
According to the Met department rain or thundershowers are very likely at many places over east UP in the next 24 hours.
With less rainfall in past few days the major rivers have started receding though some of them are still flowing above the danger mark.

According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) report, river Ganga is receding everywhere in the state but its still flowing above danger mark at Varanasi, Ghazipur and Ballia.
River Yamuna is also receding while Sharda is flowing above danger mark at Palliakalan (Kheri), it said adding that rivers Rapti and Ghagra have also started receding with no fresh rains.
A total of 8.7 lakh people in 987 villages in Varanasi, Allahabad, Ghazipur and Ballia are affected due to floods and relief and rescue operations are on.
The state government has also alerted the health department to check any outbreak of disease.
