A 22-year-old Delhi University student was allegedly attacked by her spurned lover and his friend in east Delhi's New Ashok Nagar, following which the lover has been arrested.
The incident took place last night at 8:30 pm when the girl, a student of B.Com through correspondence and working with a private company, was returning home in Kondli here, police said.
The duo, who was waiting for her to pass from there, attacked the girl with a paper cutter, leaving multiple cuts on her body, they said.

The locals rushed to the spot after listening her cries for help, police said, adding that the accused had fled by then.
The two have been identified as Wasim Akram, 25, and Wasim Khan, 24. While Akram has been arrested, his accomplice is still at large, police said.
The girl has suffered injuries on her face, head, abdomen, and arms. A minor surgery was performed for a cut in her head at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Mayur Vihar where her condition is said to be serious, police said.
Police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the duo.
The girl had filed a molestation complaint against Akram at Kalyanpuri police station last year, following which he was arrested but released on bail later, police said.
