A dumper driver was allegedly strangled to death by a contractor and his son after an altercation between them, police said today.
The incident occurred when Jagdish Prasad Balai (45), who was employed by contractor Sudhakar Yadav (42), got into a verbal spat with him on Sunday morning at the project site in Niwaru area.
Yadav and his 18-year-old son Manish met Balai again at the Niwaru site on Sunday evening and took him along with them where they strangulated him, police said, adding Balai's body was recovered yesterday.
On the complaint of Balai's relatives, the father-son duo were detained and interrogated yesterday and they confessed to have committed the crime, police said.
They have been arrested, they said.
