The three-day session of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly was today adjourned sine die by Deputy Speaker T Norbu Thongdok after passing four important government bills by voice votes.
The Societies Registration (Extension to Arunachal Pradesh) (Amendment) Bill and The Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill introduced in the assembly on Thursday by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, were unanimously passed by voice votes.
The Bill is aimed at streamlining the renewal system and to do away with the inconveniences of the bonafide and genuine NGOs, while the Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill was to transfer the power of delimitations of panchayats to the state election commission in consonance with the directions of the union panchayati raj ministry.
While the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs and Professionals (Incentive, Development and Promotional) Bill introduced in the house yesterday by PWD Minister Gojen Gadi was passed by voice votes after Thongdok directed the minister to take into consideration all the suggestions by the members and to bring in at the next session in amended form.
The bill is to provide incentive to ensure greater participation by district-based entrepreneurs and professionals as part of government policy and to facilitate decentralization of development activities with greater participation of people for every nook and corners of the state.
The house also passed the Global University Arunachal Pradesh Bill for setting of a private university in the state by Delhi-based Swastik Educational Trust, which was introduced by Education Minister Tapang Taloh yesterday, with suggestions from the members for amendment to incorporate more clauses.
