A 25-year-old engineer died and his female friend was greviously injured when the motorbike they were riding was hit by a speeding bus in outer Delhi's Alipur area, police said today.
The incident took place last night when the engineer, Saurabh, and his friend, Aashiya, were returning home from Murthal, a police official said.
A bus hit them from behind following which both were thrown several metres. The errant driver fled the scene.
Passersby called up the police and both were rushed to a hospital, where Saurabh was declared brought dead, the official said, adding, a case has been registered and police is trying to identify the vehicle and track down the driver.
