Engineering student commits suicide

Nazia, a native of Abu Nagar in Devaria, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the room at JSS College by her roommates, SP (City) Yogesh Singh said.

They told the police that the B.Tech(Civil) student was depressed for the last few days over an illness, he said.

"Her body has been sent for post mortem. We are investigating from all possible angles, including that of foul play," he said.

The deceased had declined to come to lunch with her roommates in the afternoon by saying that she was feeling unwell, after which she was found dead.

Her father is an engineer based in Qatar, Singh said, adding that her brother had visited her two days ago.

 

Nazia had left the course in between last year, but had decided to continue her studies.
