Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today said that environment awareness cannot be brought only by speeches and words and that people should contribute towards environment conservation in every possible way.
Speaking at the release of a book titled "Birds of Raj Bhawan in Uttar Pradesh" here, Naik said that he felt that envioronment awareness cannot be solely brought through word and speeches in the present times.
"People need to work towards this goal in whichever way they can contribute," he said.

The governor shared the dias with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, whom he had yesterday advised to order an impartial inquiry into the death of a journalist in Shahjahanpur, and used the opportunity to stress that he shared good relations with him.
"I have been saying that we have good relations with each other...Two days ago when we met he pointed out about the essence of mud in the form of "itr" (scent) and today he brought me a bottle of it and this is the benefit of meeting him twice in two days," Naik said at the function.
In his address, the chief minister stressed that while developing a city and roads in future, planning should be such that flowering trees are planted and this will conserve environment.
Lauding the forest department, he said that due to their efforts, the sapling of "parijat", which was considered to be scarce, are now available in nurseries.
