Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh today met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav here and sought his support in saving ponds and rivers.
Singh expressed grave concern over the drying up of rivers and ponds in the state, an official statement said.
"Rivers and ponds are our heritage which have a direct connection with the existence of humans," he said.

Expressing grave concern on the condition of Lakhari river of Jhansi and Chandraval of Mahoba, Rajendra Singh sought the help of the Chief Minister in saving them.
The Chief Minister directed the officials concerned for revival of these rivers, the statement added.
Hailing the efforts of Rajendra Singh for restoration and conservation of rivers, the Chief Minister assured of all possible help in this regard.
