Himachal Pradesh Congress today revoked the expulsion orders of senior party leader and former minister in the Virbhadra Singh government Satya Prakash Thakur and his wife Prem Lata Thakur and brought the two back into the party fold.

Thakur, along with Prem Lata and "loyalist" Devinder Negi, was expelled from the Congress for "anti-party activities" during the 2012 state Assembly polls.

State Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu revoked the expulsion of Thakur, a prominent leader from Kullu, on the recommendations of the party's disciplinary committee which considered the recommendations of the Block Congress Committee in this regard.

Thakur, a loyalist of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, was denied the party ticket from Banjar in the 2012 polls. Instead, Karan Singh, who left the BJP to join the Congress, was preferred over him and he won from Banjar.

Karan, the brother of senior BJP leader Maheshwar Singh, is currently the Ayurveda Minister in the Virbhadra Singh government.
