Fake currency racket busted in Jammu

Police today claimed to have busted a fake currency racket and recovered forged currency notes worth Rs 17,000, an official said.

The racket was busted when an employee working with Kuldeep Kumar, the main accused in the racket approached the police with the complaint that he was paid fake currency notes.

Giving details, Station House Officer, R S Pura, Abid Rafique, said "a complainant who works at the hotel run by Kuldeep Kumar, the main accused, informed us that he was paid fake currency notes by his employer".

He said that the police raided the hotel, however, the main accused managed to escape.
 

"The accused is absconding, but we have launched a manhunt to nab him," Rafique said.
