Police today claimed to have busted a fake robbery plot and arrested a man for making "false call" to the local police station.
Shahrukh, employed at a shop here, was arrested for making a fake call to the police station yesterday alleging robbery by five-six intruders at gunpoint, SHO Ranvir Singh said.
He further alleged that the robbers fled away with 200 pairs of shoes and 40 jackets, Singh added.
But during investigations, several contradictions were found in the story following which he broke down and confessed of concocting the whole plot to ditch the shop owner Nasir.
Shahrukh has been arrested, Singh said, adding that the stolen goods have been recovered from a house at Viklang Colony.
