Find lost dog, get a car!

In a desperate bid to get their lost dog back, a couple in the US state of Kentucky have offered a car as a reward for anyone who finds their pet canine.

The Burns family in Elizabeth town area have lost a three-year-old Golden Retriever named Bella.

People in Nelson and Hardin counties are trying their best to find Bella, who has been missing for more than two weeks, as the reward offered by the Burns family is a car.

Two days before Thanksgiving late November, Bella and the Burns' other dog Marley left their fenced-in backyard, snuck through a door and went out the open garage.

The next day, Marley was found a mile and a half from the house by Animal Control, but Bella was nowhere to be found.

"I love her so much. She's my baby, you know. We don't have kids. We love our pets like children, like family members," Ashley Burns was quoted as saying by WDRB-TV.

The Burns say the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix with leather seats has a blue book value of USD 3100. Since they do not have extra money to give for a reward, they say the car is the next best thing.

"We want people to take the car. We don't want people to say I'll give you your dog back, we don't want the car. We want people to know that this is payment or a reward, however you want to look at it, for bringing our dog back," Ashley's husband Mike Burns was quoted as saying.

"It's just a blur, just been a real dark scary crazy two weeks. We just want her back. I can't function normally," Mike said.
