FIR against JMM MLA

Samad was today booked on charges of assault and atrocity on his wife who alleged that he was having an extra-marital affair.

An FIR has been registered against Samad on the basis of a complaint filed by his wife and children under Chakradharpur police station area in West Singhbhum district earlier in the day, a police officer said.

The MLA's wife Asai Samad, two daughters - Sushila Samad, who works in Income Tax department here, and Sheela Samad, a B.Ed teacher, and son Ravi accused Samad of having an extramarital affair.

Officer-in-charge of Chakradharpur police station, Ratan Kumar confirmed the lodging of an FIR and said a written complaint has been lodged by the MLA's wife, accusing her husband of committing assault and atrocity on her and termed the incident as a domestic tiff.
