Press Trust of India Jamshedpur
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today served an ultimatum to the Jharkhand Government to repair the National Highway 33 and 6 by June 15, otherwise the party will be forced to launch an indefinite economic blockade and Chakka Jam in East Singhbhum district.

Addressing a joint press conference here today, JMM's senior vice-president Champai Soren, party MLA Kunal Sarangi and district president Ramdas Soren said the party will be forced to launch an indefinite economic blockade, chakka jam and jail bharo agitation, if the national highways were not repaired by June 15.

Accusing the Raghuvar Das-led government for making false promises, Soren said the issue was raised on the floor of the House during budget session of the state assembly, when Sarangi had staged dharna in support of the demand two month ago.

The Chief Minister himself had assured to improve the highway condition immediately but no action was taken in this regard, they said.

Referring the chakka jam launched by the party today, Soren said it was historic jam as the road traffic over 50 km stretch on the national highway came to a standstill for several hours despite the district administration all out effort to foil the agitation.

JMM has only deferred the chakka jam agitation and will be forced to launch an intensive agitation if the highway was not repaired by June 15, they added.
