: Five persons were arrested here today for organising the banned Cock fight, a popular rural sport in Tamil Nadu, police said.
Nine cocks and an amount of Rs 700 used for betting were seized from them, they said
Cock fights have banned by the The Supreme Court by an interim order, though the legality of the game is still under the scrutiny of High Courts.
Police said they raided the market area on a tip off that some people were holding Cock fights there daily and nabbed them.
