Five killed in bus-truck collision in Maha

Five persons from a marriage party were killed this morning when the bus in which they were travelling collided with a mini-truck near Vyala intersection in the district.

The accident took place around 10 AM in which five persons were killed on the spot, while 12 others were injured and shifted to the civil hospital here. Two of them were in a critical condition, Akola SP (rural) Chandrashekhar Meena said.

The marriage party was travelling from Dhamangaon Badhe village in Buldana district to Ambad and hired the Maharashtra State Road Transport (MSRTC) bus from Akola depot, he said.

The accident took place in front of a cement factory near the intersection, he said, adding the deceased were not identified yet.
