A food inspector was arrested by the sleuths of Vigilance Bureau in Ranchi on bribery charges today.
Food Inspector Sanjay Kumar was trapped while taking Rs 3000 from a noodle manufacturer to issue a registration chit, Superintendent of Police Vipul Shukla (Vigilance) told PTI here.
The trap was set after the complainant alleged that Kumar had taken Rs 1000 on the day of verification of the noodle manufacturer's shop and demanded Rs 3000 more.
"Rs 80,000 in cash was recovered during a search of his house," the SP said.
